The assessment is not timed, but it will take approximately 50 minutes to complete. We recommend that you complete this assessment in one sitting, and stay in the browser window which contains our assessment. The assessment includes Situational Judgement Test, Personality Test, Verbal Reasoning Test, Logical Reasoning Test and Numerical Reasoning Test.
1. Situational Judgement Test
This part of the questions consists of situational test questions that ask you to rank 5 options based on a scenario. Here is an actual sample for situational judgement test.
2. Personality Test
There are sample questions, mainly testing your preferences for working styles. Answer by dragging the slider to see if you fit HSBC's style.
3. Verbal Reasoning Test
16 questions, covering 4 subtopics:
Deducing Conclusions
Evaluating Evidence
Identifying Assumptions
Judging Arguments
Each subtopic consists of 1 brief statement and 4 conclusions, where the candidate is required to assess each conclusion.
4. Logical Reasoning Test
6 questions (2 of which are practice questions) that require observing the given images, identifying the patterns, and selecting the image that fits the pattern from the options.
5. Numerical Reasoning Test
6 questions that require analysis, calculation, and judgment based on the provided charts.
